Confidence Analytics is an industry leader in the field of cannabis quality assurance testing. We are a full-service chemical analytical and microbiology laboratory serving the DCC regulated marketplace in California. We are seeking applicants to fill the role of Director of Business Development in our California Laboratory.
Position Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for overseeing the implementation of business objectives of Confidence Analytics’ sales, marketing, and business development within the State of California. This person works closely with the Operations Department and Executive Management to ensure effective interdepartmental communication and collaboration toward the ultimate satisfaction of the Clients.
Drawing upon their familiarity with executive-level decision making, the Director of Business Development will work closely with key stakeholders to integrate the Company’s services within the Client’s operations toward objective return on investment metrics for both the Company and its Clients.
This unique role has huge potential upside. Bonuses and/or commissions will be rewarded on each deal closed amounting to an opportunity to make well into six figures after commissions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer relationship management.
Fulfillment of Client Needs; coordinate with Company and Client executives to develop services tailored to Client’s needs.
Fulfillment Team Development; train and mentor staff who interact with target accounts toward fulfillment of account needs.
Communicate with team members and Clients; interdepartmental coordination is required for resolution, clarification, and Client success.
Strong familiarity with Cannabis testing requirements in the DCC regulated marketplace.
Competitive analysis; stay abreast of activities and pricing of competitors to ensure the company maintains market edge.
Necessary Skills

Analytical Skills: analyze sales numbers and publicly available market data to identify weaknesses and opportunities.
Customer Service: speak with dissatisfied customers, entertain high profile clients, establish long-lasting relationships built on trust.

Problem-solving skills: think critically to assess Client problems and identify workable solutions that maintain integrity of systems and outcomes.
Commitment to quality and accuracy of results in the face of potentially ambiguous information.
Familiarity with cannabis quality and safety standards as regulated by the California Department of Cannabis Control.
The ability to follow through on commitments.
Additional Qualifications
At least 21 years of age.
Clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Availability
This is a full-time, remote position requiring a commitment of 32-40 hours per week. Weekend availability is required.
Location
Location: Grover Beach, CA 93433 (occasional travel to Redmond, WA required).
This is a remote position requiring residence in the state of California and frequent travel to Client locations across the state of California.
Pay
$60k-$90k/ year depending on experience.
Bonus and/or Commission rewarded on the basis of closing and maintaining deals with Client accounts.
