Urbn Leaf has long been a staple in the San Diego cannabis scene, offering a wide variety of house strains alongside premium options. Their house flower lands somewhere in the mid-tier range, with some hits and a few strains that could use a little fine-tuning. Let’s take a look at three of their offerings and see how they stack up.
Cross: Haze x Northern Lights x Shiva Skunk
The Numbers
THC: 22.13%
Total Cannabinoids: 23.94%
CBD:
.05%
Package Date: 6/10/2025
Dominant Terpenes:
Terpinolene .81%
β-Caryophyllene .42%
β-Ocimene .17%
A-Humulene .16%
Appearance: Bright light green nugs with subtle forest green accents. Long, vibrant red pistils stand out, lightly dusted with trichomes that highlight rather than cover the structure.
Aroma: Classic Jack Herer from the jump. That signature spicy, pine-forward aroma is unmistakable, blended with just a hint of sweet citrus, thanks to the Caryophyllene and Terpinolene in the profile. When you crack a nug open, it reveals a subtle sour-candy sweetness.
Smoke: The flavor closely mirrors the nose, delivering a citrus-pine front end with a spicy kick on the finish. Smooth and consistent with a lingering herbal bite.
Effects: Focused, energetic, and clear-headed. This is a perfect strain for productivity or powering through a workout. It’s cerebral without adding any weight to the body. While it doesn’t top my personal list of Jack cuts (like Jack the Ripper from No-Till Kings or Ember Valley’s Sweet Jack), it still delivers the reliable Jack experience I expect.
Final Verdict: A solid Jack Herer that gets the job done. Great choice for staying productive or dialed in.
Cross: Lemon Skunk X Super Silver Haze
The Numbers
THC: 24.12%
Total Cannabinoids: 24.12%
CBD: .13%
Package Date: 3/10/2025
Total Terpenes: 17.87 mg
Terpinolene 5.8mg
β-Caryophyllene 3.50 mg
Trans β-Ocimene 2.53 mg
β-Myrcene 2.21 mg
Appearance: Dense nugs with muted light green tones. Short red pistils are scattered throughout, but the overall look lacks the vibrancy of the Jack.
Aroma: Very mild. At first, mostly earthy with only a slight citrus scent when the nug is broken open.
Smoke: Slight citrus notes on the inhale, but quickly overtaken by earthy tones. A faint burn on the back of the throat.
Effects: Slightly uplifting and mellow. It takes the edge off without offering much clarity or creative energy. Would be decent for a relaxed evening walking the dog or knocking out light housework.
Final Verdict: Not the best Lemon Haze I’ve tried, and this batch may have been dried out. I’d give it one more shot, but for now, I wouldn’t rank it above the Lemon Kush from Jaxx.
Cross: Trainwreck x Hawaiian
The Numbers
THC: 23.90%
Total Cannabinoids: 25.19%
CBD: .09%
Package Date: 3/24/2025
Total Terpenes: 14.63 mg
β-Myrcene 7.48 mg
β-Caryophyllene 2.40 mg
d-Limonene 1.59 mg
Linalool 1.20 mg
Appearance: A mix of darker and bright green leaves, with scattered red pistils. The structure is tight, with good contrast throughout the bud.
Aroma: Tropical and sweet, with pineapple and mango notes on top of subtle earthy undertones.
Smoke: More woody on the front end, followed by a mango-like sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the tongue.
Effects: Uplifting and fun. This strain had me laughing, gaming with friends, and enjoying the moment, even through mistakes. It’s not one to use before a high-pressure situation, but perfect for relaxed fun or social downtime.
Final Verdict: A nostalgic classic with a fresh spin. While it’s not the best Pineapple Express I’ve had, it delivers a solid high and good vibes without breaking the bank.
