Hikei Opens Downtown Location
Hikei opened its doors yesterday in its 3rd location, at 1215 W Nutmeg Street, near Little Italy and San Diego International Airport.
Owner Aaron Magagna said “We started this 4 years ago, scouting locations. You know the game. Zoning is always the issue. But we found a great building and got straight to work.” That building is a quonset hut. “We stripped that thing bare, found the best metal guy in Pennsylvania, and it came out great.”
“We’re psyched to be near two landmarks, Little Italy and the airport. We always wanted to be near the airport, and I think we’ll always be the closest.”
Hikei operates two other storefronts in the county, Home Avenue in City Heights, and in La Mesa on Grossmont Boulevard.
