Plans to include the California Cannabis Experience  at the 2025 San Diego County Fair have been shelved until 2026 at the soonest. The 22nd Agricultural District – operators of the Del Mar Fairgrounds an the San Diego County Fair – had visited the California State Fair in July and walked through the California Cannabis Experience pavilion. The group was impressed by the experience, to the degree of bringing it to Del Mar in 2025 as part of the San Diego Fair. At the October Hall of Flowers in Santa Rosa, DCC’s Nina Lemke said “Yes, the (22nd) Agricultural District was just in Sacramento and were blown away by the 2024 CA Cannabis Experience”

In follow up communication this week, Lemke stated “any consumption event at the San Diego Fair wouldn’t take place until 2026 at the soonest.” In the meantime the Orange County Fair is talks to include the same exhibit for its 2025 fair Lemke shared. Similar events – with competitions and consumption – have been successfully staged at State Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa and Ventura, lending credence the decision was made locally.
