Heirbloom: Orange Crush

By: Shagwhelin “Shaggy” Bullock

Heirbloom Orange Crush: "This hybrid sativa doesn’t hold back —its name tells you exactly what to expect."

If you haven’t tried Heirbloom before, you’re missing out on a brand dedicated to preserving old-school legacy genetics. Grown by Cannabiotix (CBX), Heirbloom is reviving legendary strains, and their Orange Crush is a tribute to the classic Cali-O.

This hybrid sativa doesn’t hold back—its name tells you exactly what to expect. Some citrus strains have a subtle zest, but not Orange Crush. The moment you crack open the jar, you’re hit with an intense orange aroma, like stepping into a kitchen doused in citrus cleaner. It’s bold, bright, and unmistakable.

Heirbloom Orange Crush: "blends the gassy, earthy undertones of GMO with the tropical sweetness of Papaya."

Visually, the nugs are a striking key lime green with long red pistils weaving throughout, giving the flower an orange-tinted glow. While the trichomes aren’t as prominent as in some strains, they still lend a light shimmer to the buds, making them pop under the right lighting.

Smoking Orange Crush delivers the same powerful citrus experience as the aroma. Now, I have to admit—orange-heavy strains aren’t my personal favorite in terms of flavor, but the effects? They’re phenomenal. Much like Tangie, this strain provides a burst of creative energy. Once the initial haziness clears, it’s easy to dive into a project, whether it’s painting, hiking, or simply making household chores more enjoyable with some upbeat music. It’s an uplifting high that keeps you engaged and active.

Lineage: GMO X Papaya

Source: Oni Seed CO.

Total THC: 29.67%

Appearance: Red pistils were scattered throughout, adding a vibrant contrast, while a fine dusting of trichomes coated the nug beautifully.

Flavor: (A) fruity sweetness, with a distinct peppery aftertaste.

Aroma: Subtle sweetness upfront, followed by an earthy undertone.

Effects: After a bowl of Garlic Juice, zoning out with a good movie feels like the best move.

Heirbloom Orange Crush: "...a fantastic strain at a great price, delivering a smooth and enjoyable high that’s perfect for an evening chill session."

I’m giving Orange Crush a solid 3.8 out of 5 flames. That rating isn’t a knock—it’s a fantastic strain with great effects, but my personal preference leans toward stronger sativas like Green Crack and Super Silver Haze from the Heirbloom Legacy Flower lineup. If you love citrus-forward strains, this is a must-try. And if indicas are more your speed, don’t sleep on their Blueberry strain—it’s another standout in their collection.
