On January 15, Escondido Mayor Dane White spoke to the Escondido Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee, and said two things were on his mind recently: Homelessness and the need ramp up efforts to find additional housing, and cannabis. After addressing the dire homelessness issue for 45 minutes, White turned to cannabis matters.
White suggested Vista and Encinitas have legal cannabis marketplaces and Escondido should consider similar action. To that end, Mayor White announced plans to form a cannabis marketplace committee.
