As fires ravage Los Angeles – including the cannabis industry – I ponder what would happen if a large scale emergency came crashing on San Diego’s thriving cannabis industry.
Where to Donate Fire Relief Funds (laist.com)
How would we as a cannabis community respond? What support would be available, and how could we work together to protect our industry, workers and customers?
If the LA fires teach us one thing, it’s having a plan is key.
As our cannabis family deepens its roots, the time is now for an active San Diego alliance of growers, retailers, and distributors.
One such benefit of a San Diego Cannabis Cannabis Alliance would bring a unified response in times of crisis. Firefighters, plumbers, actors and more have organized guilds/alliances. Call it what you want, having a unified voice for cannabis businesses in San Diego County would enable many positives.
In addition to emergency response, the organization could also lobby Sacramento on cannabis legislation, publish local cannabis education programming, and work alongside municipal cannabis programs.
Our community is surging past its nascent era. It’s time for us to come together and get prepared for whatever lies ahead.
