Approved: 2 New Dispensaries Near San Diego International Airport

The City of San Diego has approved 2 Conditional Use Permits (CUP's) for cannabis dispensaries near the eastern border of San Diego International Airport.

The City of San Diego has approved 2 Conditional Use Permits (CUP’s) for cannabis dispensaries near the eastern border of San Diego International Airport.

The first, approved in January, was awarded to Blue Square Assets LLC with longtime cannabis operator Rakesh Goyal. Its location is at 2555 Kettner Blvd. near the popular Casbah music venue and replaces the Express Rent A Car.

The second, approved last month, will be operated by Golden State Greens and will be located at 1215 West Nutmeg Street. Golden State Greens has an existing storefront at 3452 Hancock Street.

Normally the close proximity between the two storefronts would pose a problem due to there being less than 1,000 feet between them. However the existence of the railroad tracks create enough of a barrier to use walking distance (as opposed to “as the crow flies”) as the dermionating distance.

Watch this space for opening dates.
